"Phil - My mistake. The decision of the DO Admissions Committee on your application is: ACCEPT! Congratulations! I will mail your letter today.
This is the first mistake I have made in these emails in five years. I sincerely apologize for it happening to you. Once again, your ACCEPT! Letter is in the mail today. Sorry. Please email me back and let me know you got this email. I feel really bad that this happened. Have a nice day. "

And the Verdict Is...
Waitlisted for Nevada.
We are bummed but there is still hope. Schools can move through their waitlists at any rate and it varies each year. No further details were given in the email other than "Waitlist". We think the reason he is waitlisted is due to the amount of science courses he has taken. He has around 40 credit hours and his interviewer was concerned with that number as the average is 70 hours, about 10 more classes.
Next up is U of A on September 8th & 10th and then Midwestern AZ on the 26th. Still waiting to hear from a number of other schools.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Ready...or not
He was the only person who didn't wear a suit. And who had an orange tie. (This was okay, though he will wear a suit to U of A.)
He was the only person to ask questions in the group session. He also stumbled a wee bit during the interview, a question caught him off guard, but he pulled through...eventually.
Hopefully they overlook this...
We find out the results August 29th. Happy Friday!

First Interview
I just dropped Phil off at Touro-University Nevada for his interview. He looked smart in his nice clothes and he is prepared. We left last night after work and drove into Henderson at 10:45pm. Nasty drive. And we get to do it again in just 6 hours! Fun!
I am so proud of my Phillip for making it this far. We set the goal of medical school 2 years ago, shortly after Camden. He powered through rigorous science classes and completed his degree at ASU, studied for the monstrous MCAT, did well and now we have run the paces of applications and countless essays. To date we have 5 interview offers.

- Touro-Nevada
- U of A-Tucson
- U of A-Phoenix
- Touro-California
- Midwestern-Arizona
Phil has decided to interview at the above and hopefully hear back from one or more in a timely manner so then we will quit interviewing if we get any more offers. The process is expensive and time consuming. Our first choice is U of A, preferably Phoenix campus and we won't hear from them until end of January.
Until then...

Can I have one?
It was my pleasure and delight to take newborn pics of my friend's newest addition. She was so sweet and I could just eat her up!

New 'Do
Remember when my hair was this long? It's longer when it is wet and straight, I didn't realize it was so long!

Now it's not so long. I wanted a change, something new but not crazy. I know it's nothing too exciting or new for that matter, just more layers and it is anywhere from 5-6 inches shorter. I had second thoughts as I watched the scissors go snip, snip, snip and then mourned my long hair. But it is still long. And now it is healthy and I am slowly transitioning to my natural dark blonde in preparation for poor medical student wife status, husband's

WooHoo!!
***UPDATE:***Phil received another invitation to U of A's Phoenix campus yesterday. Sweet! 2 chances for the persnickety U of A. He will interview in Tucson, Monday, September 8th and then in Phoenix on Wednesday, September 10th. Now after excitement fades a massive case of nerves is settling in with my husband. We will be holding "mock" interviews, researching the schools extensively and praying and praying and praying.***
4pm at work for me. My patient is already 15 minutes late and I don't anticipate them coming. Check my phone for missed calls and just as I grab it Phil calls. With amazing news. Great news! Beyond our wildest dreams news...
Phil is the proud owner of a University of Arizona Medical College interview! Do you know what this means? This is one HUGE step towards an acceptance! We are besides ourselves with disbelief and gratitude. Go Phil!

Count your Many Blessings
Name them one by one...
In effort to lighten the mood and dispel the doom and gloom that has been hovering this happy little blog I am going to do just that. Count my blessings. For truly, I am blessed. While I share my personal thoughts, feelings and inner struggles with you I also need to remind you (and me, mainly me) that I have a wonderful life. One worth shouting about. If my only (major) trial in life is losing my sweet son and then struggling to conceive another than my life is not bad at all. There are always worse things to be had.
So, let the counting begin!
1. I have married in the Lord's temple for time and eternity to a kind man who loves me, who honors his priesthood, who has goals, who works hard and did I mention he loves me?

2. I have a beautiful son waiting for my return. If I never get pregnant again I will still have Camden and he has fulfilled the Lord's promise of us being blessed with children. How much more blessed can you be to already have perfection waiting for you?

3. I am constantly amazed by the wonderfully kind comments that are left in my behalf. I have made many friends, some I have never met! Thank you for your support.
4. I am healthy and strong.
5. I have an education and skills!

6. I live in a free country that allows me to enjoy the freedoms we all take for granted.
7. I am part of a wonderful loving family on both sides.

8. I have a testimony of the gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that families are eternal. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again and that He died for us. I am grateful for my life and the lessons I am learning. I wouldn't change a thing.

Musings
I shouldn't be posting since I have nothing of real magnitude to report, no brilliant news or witty commentary, nothing. I should hold my peace instead of polluting the web with blathering and random thoughts from yours truly. But I'm not. Lucky you.
Yesterday Phil & I held family home evening. We reviewed our budget, how well we fared from last month's expenditures and revisited our goals, our lofty goals of saving more and spending less. Then Phil gave me a blessing. I have been wanting a blessing for some time now and we kept neglecting it, not deliberately but with the absentmindedness of life propelling on and it getting lost amidst the hustle and bustle.
I was seeking comfort and reassurance in regards to our family and my lack of conceiving in what I deemed a "timely manner". My time, remember, not the Lord's. Phil delivered and I was given a lovely blessing and reminded that I need to be patient and that all things are given to us for our good, to teach us, to make us stronger. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not patient when I have a plan and know how to execute it. I expect results, especially when the plan is what I thought the Lord had in mind for us, you know, the multiply and replenish the earth one? Perhaps it still is, my blessing didn't spell it out for me, unfortunately.
I have struggled with my lack of conception. Camden came to us so quickly and with ease. He was such a blessing, we loved him right away and loved him more when we learned of his condition, and then if it was possible, we loved him even more when left us. I still love him, want him, need him. I know that I have him, just not now.
To conclude our evening we reread our patriarchal blessings, reminded ourselves of the promises that are ours if we are faithful. We have each been promised children and I cling to that knowledge. I do not know by what means we are to obtain our family but know that it will come. Perhaps I have not exhibited enough faith and this time is for me to fine tune the art of patience, the reward is sweeter when you have to work for it, wait for it. If this is the case, then I hope for a sugar induced coma.
