I shouldn't be posting since I have nothing of real magnitude to report, no brilliant news or witty commentary, nothing. I should hold my peace instead of polluting the web with blathering and random thoughts from yours truly. But I'm not. Lucky you.
Yesterday Phil & I held family home evening. We reviewed our budget, how well we fared from last month's expenditures and revisited our goals, our lofty goals of saving more and spending less. Then Phil gave me a blessing. I have been wanting a blessing for some time now and we kept neglecting it, not deliberately but with the absentmindedness of life propelling on and it getting lost amidst the hustle and bustle.
I was seeking comfort and reassurance in regards to our family and my lack of conceiving in what I deemed a "timely manner". My time, remember, not the Lord's. Phil delivered and I was given a lovely blessing and reminded that I need to be patient and that all things are given to us for our good, to teach us, to make us stronger. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not patient when I have a plan and know how to execute it. I expect results, especially when the plan is what I thought the Lord had in mind for us, you know, the multiply and replenish the earth one? Perhaps it still is, my blessing didn't spell it out for me, unfortunately.
I have struggled with my lack of conception. Camden came to us so quickly and with ease. He was such a blessing, we loved him right away and loved him more when we learned of his condition, and then if it was possible, we loved him even more when left us. I still love him, want him, need him. I know that I have him, just not now.
To conclude our evening we reread our patriarchal blessings, reminded ourselves of the promises that are ours if we are faithful. We have each been promised children and I cling to that knowledge. I do not know by what means we are to obtain our family but know that it will come. Perhaps I have not exhibited enough faith and this time is for me to fine tune the art of patience, the reward is sweeter when you have to work for it, wait for it. If this is the case, then I hope for a sugar induced coma.

I can feel your pain from here. I know you hear everyone's stories about getting pregnant so I am going to add mine. I was told after trying to have a baby for five years that I would never be able to. I kept trying and FINALLY got pregnant after seven years. I was the oldest new mom in my ward but I finally got what I wanted. Then it took me another six years to get an addition. I know Heavenly Father hears your prays and you will get your answer someday. Until then, please know that so many people love you and want this for you too! (And forget about being patient...it doesn't happen easily!)
As you posted on my blog, the Lord IS mindful of us and our needs. I think about you often and pray that someday you will have the greatest desire of your heart.
Heather, I think you have exhibited great faith! You are such an example to me, and to many others. Just hang in there girl, it will come in HIS time. I think that is the hardest thing about our mortal life here, is understanding HIS time and not ours. Love ya girl!
You have amazing faith... amazing. It is so hard to understand HIS time, not ours. You will get that reward, I am sure of it. Lets just hope you pass on the coma and get a high instead :)
I have thought a lot about you and Phil these last 6 days, our daughter and her husband found out at their 22 week ultrasound that their baby will not live long after he is born if at all. (it's a boy, they named him Noah Gabriel)Devestating news and it made me go to Camden's site and re read it.
God's blessings to you and Phil as you wait for your next miracle.
Heather hang in there you will be an amazing mommy and I'm sure there are special spirits waiting for you and Phil.
Patience is hard, isn't it? At least you have a great husband who is faithful and you guys can have nights like that together - I don't think there's anything better than a blessing from your husband. I hope the Lord's time will be soon for you.
Heather, you and Phil are destined for a dynamic life. Your strength is remarkable, and your joy in your outlook of life is so tangible. I pray for your prayers to be answered.
He grants the rightheous (sp?) desires of our hearts. And that's definately one of them! I pray your wait isn't too much longer and that you'll be blessed with another bundle soon. Don't stress over it too much...you might get prego sooner! : )
The Lords timetable is something that everyone has to learn. When I was in the singles ward I made fun of all of the girls that would talk about The Lords Time table and wanting to be married. Now I'm in that same boat, as are you, as I wait for the day.
Hang in there. I know it stinks.
When we were not accepted to dental school the 2nd time we were devastated. We sent out an email to tell all our family and I titled it something like: "We make plans and the Lord laughs."
My sweet aunt replied to that email and gently expressed that she does not feel the Lord thinks that way about our lives at all; rather he says (paraphrasing her), "My child, I love and know you better than any one else. I know what will bring you the greatest joy throughout your life and through the eternities. Your way is not part of my way." Then He tenderly "hedges up the way" on this path.
This really changed my perspective about our situation, knowing that if I stayed faithful and put my trust in Him, He would not withhold any blessings, in His time.
I'm sorry you are feeling so discouraged about this; may you truly feel the peace that only the Savior can bring at this time.
heather it was so fun to see you the other day. were you temping or is this a permanent spot for you? i wish we could have chatted more!
oh Heather, things of the spirit are always of great importance and i appreciate your candid way of sharing your struggles and thoughts. oh patience. how can we ever learn something that can only be learned by waiting? sort of an oxymoron.
