It's coming...

Swimsuit season that is. Are you ready? I for sure am NOT! This last week I was sporadic at best with my exercise, running only once, though it was a longer hour run and then working out to a new DVD. (This is not an advertisement.)

What's my new DVD you ask? Well, you have all heard of Jillian Michaels. On the workout she introduces herself as TV's toughest trainer. And it's true. She kicks my butt, which is precisely the point. I like her style, she is not counting off enthusiastically your aerobic moves, she is real. And by real, I mean real hard, real tough, real thorough, real mean. The DVD I bought is 30Day Shred. It comes in 3 circuits, each progressively harder. The 1st one I did fine, definitely worked out well and hard in just 28 minutes. Did that level for a few days and yesterday I moved up to level 2. It kicked. my. butt.

During the exercise she tells me she wants me to "feel like you are going to die". I did. I wanted to stop. She told me not to, she told me to push harder. Anyway, Jillian is waiting for me. She's not going to be happy that I ate cake and ice cream last night, and just maybe I have already nipped at the leftover cake for breakfast. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. I don't know if I am going to be shredded but I do know I am firming up, maybe, just maybe I will wear a swimsuit this season. Walk away from the cake!

What are you doing to stay fit?

I need a serious ab workout to get rid of my pooch. I have a feeling its going to take a very long time. Hmmmm. Don't think I'll be in a swimsuit too much this year. But then again, who cares what you look like at the beach??? Oh yeah baby! San Diego here we freakin come!!!!As you can see I am still very excited about this news. Seems like the day to move is forever away, even though its only 6 weeks. Wanna come vacation at our house???

I do an aerobics class called the Muscle Challenge 2 days a week with my nazi teacher who pushes me harder than I ever have. I have never worked out until having kids. This class makes us do cardio for about 30 minutes and then lift and do abs for the last 30 minutes. I should do it 3 days a week. Then we are trying to cut out sugar in our diet and just have a dessert twice a month. We did good January to March and then fell off the bandwagon hard. We are starting again May 1st!

I need to look into getting that, so that I can work out at home. then maybe I will work my way back to the gym after I have this baby. I need someone to push me and make me go or some how have a miracle happen where it is an addiction to me. I wish I was one of those people. Good luck and I need to start something here. I will start with cleaning my house for Bunco and then work to working out. HA HA!

I must need glasses. It took me 4x to get the word verification right for my last comment.

Niss, when have you not been swimsuit ready? Sigh. You are my exercise idol!

Marisa- You will love it!

Heather: I have tried no sugar and fail miserably every time. But there's always tomorrow! Good luck.

Heather...not sure if you saw my last comment on your 'chicken little' post, but I'm daring to comment again! :o) I'm glad you shared the Jillian video...I'm looking for some new videos to add into my routine (I use the term 'routine' very loosely!) But the way I found to get myself in shape is to train for a triathlon! Gives you a goal and a nice variety in your training. I finally started back up about 2 weeks ago to get ready for my 2 tris this summer...and I realize how out of shape I am! I start a swim class tomorrow to help train...I was excited until I remembered that other people are in this class and I have to wear a bathing suit in front of them (not to mention the window to the pool area)...ugh! This better pay off!

Way to go Heather! I try...I fail...and I try again. I go back and forth between jogging and videos. I may have to try Jillian's, but I don't know if I want to die. :)

I'm going to buy that DVD right now. I tried that "Biggest Loser" one. I loved Bob and Jillian, but Kim's workout was lame. I hope this one's better. I used to do the gym but it got too pricey. Now I'm constantly looking for good DVDs. My fav was the very first TAE Bo tape. But, I have misplaced my VCR. Thanks for the recommendation

I am definitely going to buy this DVD. I was always wishing that she could be my personal trainer and now she can! I really need to get a tan before swim suit season. I am freakishly white. I also have not been working out like I should because my treadmill died. Thanks for the reminder that someone other than my hubby might be seeing my butt cheeks and muffin top very very soon. Ah...thats what board shorts and tankinis are for.

ok...Heather, I did it again. That comment above from Joe is actually from Lori. I know I should learn my lesson not to blog at other people's houses. SORRY!

Well done ladies! Lori, I too have learned my lesson with your comments and I recognize "Joe" now as one of your alias'. Muffin top?

Still doin' my couch to 5k! This Friday we'll do our first 2 miles with no jogging!! It's totally a mental thing!!! WE CAN DO IT! And being swim suit ready?? My suit it actually too BIG for me now! WEIRD! I need to resize it since I love it and don't want to buy a new one. Thanks for good ol' stretch marks though....you'll never see me in a swimsuit without board shorts or a skirt!! :P

I'm doing nada, but have been seriously considering what I will do when my six-weeks are up and I can do whatever I want, provided I'm healed well enough. Thanks for the advice, I may just go out and buy that dvd because out here in Queentucky I don't have a gym nearby anymore (but there is one in the making on the corner - yahoo!). I love working out and am excited to check out this video - maybe I'll give it a test drive on netflix. You go girl and you'll look great in a swimsuit! p.s. you really don't have to visit my blog for a while if it's hard to see all the baby stuff - I can only imagine how hard it is especially right now with Camden's two-year birthday just recently. But I love reading yours and will totally understand if you take a break for a while since it must be hard. You are amazingly strong, though.

Ok Heather....I was thinking about ordering this...is it worth it? Do you like it? Did you order it or did you find it at a store around here? Let me know. Thanks!

Let's be honest. I'm not staying fit.

I'm just trying to finish out the school year without adding anymore weight!
However I walk with my mom every week day morning for about 20-25 minutes.

Fit? Well... define fit. ... No, don't. I'll just say hi instead. Hi. Ü
