Phil's 36th

Phil had a birthday back in January. Wahoo! He's old enough now that he doesn't remember how old he is and he has to ask me. Funny guy.

We make birthdays fun for the kids but take a more low key approach for ourselves, though I wouldn't mind making it more of a party, just sayin'... Since we were just 2 weeks out from having Carson we definitely embraced low key. I gave the gift of time and love in baking a fabulous Black Forest cake. So delicious and rich! A moist chocolate cake with freshly whipped cream, from scratch cherry sauce and chocolate shavings. It was really wonderful and we ate off that thing for a whole week! Phil doesn't like sweet frostings or much of it so the whipped cream was right up his alley. Me? Bring on the frosting!

We are sure grateful that we have such a wonderful daddy and husband. He is selfless, serving, helpful, kind and fun. Those are just a few of his attributes! We are really blessed to have him as ours. Love you Phil.
